Two-Day Learning Institute
Tuesday January 7, 2025 1:15pm - 2:00pm PST
The California Early Childhood Special Education Network (CalECSE) is a key initiative supported by the California Department of Education (CDE) with the goal of improving outcomes for children with disabilities and their families. CalECSE works to eliminate barriers to successful transitions, assessments, and access to educational programming for young children with disabilities across California. This mission spans multiple agencies and aims to create a more cohesive, inclusive system for early childhood education.  In this session, we will explore how CalECSE is addressing these needs by providing professional learning opportunities for both staff and administrators. This professional development is designed to equip educators and administrators with the knowledge, skills, and tools they need to support children with disabilities and their families. Additionally, we will discuss how CalECSE is fostering the development of Communities of Practice (CoPs) across the state. These CoPs are collaborative groups where professionals can share knowledge, strategies, and resources to meet the evolving needs of children and families, ultimately working to improve outcomes for California's youngest learners with disabilities.
