Abigail Shaewitz is a Program Specialist at Tulare County Office of Education in Visalia, California. As a Program Specialist, she consults, coordinates, plans programs, provides behavioral resources and assesses the effectiveness of behavioral intervention programs for students with special needs. Abby has more than 20 years of experience working in schools and mental health settings. Her experiences have given her the ability to relate and serve culturally diverse populations and students with special needs.
Before joining the Tulare County Office of Education in 2022, Abby spent almost 15 years as a high school counselor and 5 years as a clinician within the community mental health setting. Early in Abby’s career as a clinician within community mental health, she understood the significant role schools have in youth development and lifelong success. This understanding has continued to guide her work in environments where she can make an impact and support students in achieving academic and social-emotional success.
